Overview

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring that all vendor invoices and expense reports are processed accurately and promptly.  The Accounts Payable Manager implements effective internal controls, fosters strong relationships with vendors, resolves any payment disputes, and collaborates with other departments to streamline financial processes.

 

In addition to managing payments, the Accounts Payable Manager also manages related tax, credit and centralized business account activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounts payable function and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and expense reports
  • Develops and maintains accounts payable policies, procedures and process documentation
  • Monitors and troubleshoots Accounts Payable systems, providing leadership in implementing systems changes, enhancements or performance improvements
  • Manages the annual process for issuing 1099 tax forms to eligible vendors and filing with the IRS
  • Manages the escheatment/unclaimed property process
  • Files all necessary forms to ensure compliance with sales tax exemption requirements in multiple states
  • Manages Y-USA’s Amazon Business program
  • Oversees Y-USA’s travel program
  • Manages centralized business accounts
  • Manages hotel direct bill applications
  • Oversees credit monitoring activities, including managing Y-USA’s Better Business Bureau (BBB) profile and providing credit references to potential vendors
  • Performs month-end and year-end close activities such as recording activity, account reconciliations and preparing reports
  • Provides audit support for both internal and external audit requests
  • Identifies and implements improvements to processes and procedures to drive efficiency and strengthen internal control
  • Ensure compliance with Y-USA policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
  • Supervises staff within the accounts payable function
  • Performs other duties as assigned

This position is essential for maintaining the trust and reliability of the organization’s financial operations. The position is highly visible to internal and external clients and must always maintain a high customer service standard.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent experience accepted
  • 2-5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance department
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience with Concur Invoice and Concur Expense preferred
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required, advanced skills a plus

Posted Salary Range

USD $74,700.00 - USD $99,600.00 /Yr.
